Known to his parents as Charles Omony, Also know by stage name as D.M.B (Charles DMB),
DMB is simply one of Africas rising stars, Born and bred in Uganda in the 80s. DMB Charles was born in a Military hospital of Qadaffi barracks in Jinja district of Uganda during civil war when power struggle had emerged within the ruling party, and both of his parents were in the military service of Idi Amin Museveni. He was given surname Omony meaning war situation and He then grew up with his military mother Dorren Abwot who then died in 1997 and was later raised by his military Father and stepmother who treated him like her own,

He started his music career in 2002, and his sound is inspired by a little bit of Kiswahili and English flavor but because DMB is not a stereotype kind of an artist, he tries and incorporates every element of music to make his style rich and appealing to everyone. After a strong hustle in the streets of Uganda, Jinja and Kampala City he then moved to South Africa where he found his home of music in Johannesburg and has been living there ever since.

Emcee by heart and Linux network engineer by profession, DMB Charles is also a graphic designer and a Christian motivational speaker. Charles DMB is a Hip Hop Artist, a hard worker, an inspiring man, of passionate, tolerant, patient person and man of goals.

DMB Charles grew up listening to Ugandan Music known as Afro-pop, Reggae and Hip hop. And at the age of 15 he was inspired by emcees like LL Cool J, Kool G Rap, Masta Ace, Rakim, KRS-One, Nas and many more, It was majorly Masta Ace and KRS-One that inspired him to begin rapping.

Coming from a military background has molded him to be nothing but a fighter, and he has converted all his skills into a lifes hustle to better himself and others.

During his high school in Jinja senior secondary school, a friend introduced him to a small studio where he started learning how to make songs; this improved his hip-hop career and He was known mostly in Jinja due to his performances in different schools and where he earned the name D.M.B. His journey as a performing artist and singer taught him that musicians dont need to be born with a silver spoon in order to make it to the top of the music game but can still make it using nothing but talent.

His dream is to make music which carries a positive massage, that is, music which will bring about a positive change in the society and generation. His dream became reality some years ago when he traveled to South Africa where he got hired for his great Technical Computer Network Support experience and skill set. The same work ethic he applies to his day job, he also applies to making his music.

DMB has been building himself, making right connection, meeting right people, doing collaborations and learning how to produce himself and now he has decided to finally step out of the shadows and bring his music to the world.

D.M.B Collaborated with Obita, Bushoke from Tanzania and Ab Crazy, Jolonde from South Africa

Since his career took off, he has been sharing stages with a lot of South African Big Guns the likes of HHP, Proverb, Pro-kid, Loyiso Bala, Dreamanskaap, Dj Cleo, Pitch Black Afro to name a few.
