'Urban Scrolls' by Monica Kufakunesu

Many moons ago I came upon a beautiful soul, one whom I shared a profound connection with, an emotional, physical and mental bond unlike no other.

For the first time in my life I found myself inexplicably drawn to another, I couldn't stop myself from falling.

The minutes seemed like hours and the hours like days when we were together......but life happened, as it inevitably always does and we found ourselves apart.

Distance, physical or otherwise, undoubtedly will strain even the strongest of relationships......and so it did.

Today I will share with you two verses from a piece that he penned down for me, a piece in which he managed to capture our own love story and bring it to life.

'Parralel Heart', is a tale of two star-crossed lovers who are seperated by time and space.

Just the thought of having a 'parrallel heart' is in itself alluring, just the thought of two hearts beating in unison, the thought of being connected to another soul no matter how far apart you are is indeed the stuff that some of the greatest love stories are made of.

With this song he touched my heart and caressed my soul, he gave me hope that one day we would be together again and in my heart I lit a symbolic candle, to light his path back.......a candle that still burns even today.

My hope is that everyone out there can identify with the words and the message in the song.

I chose not to share the third verse to the song because I wanted the readers to come up with their own conclusions as to how this love story pans out, after all, nothing is set in stone and we have the power to not only influence but re-write our own narratives.

Verse 1

You reserved a place for me, in the deepest parts of your heart/

Amazingly/

I still find a way to come back and always be/

Like a soldier in the battlefield whose only hope/

Is a memory that stuck, a recurring thought/

In the nights that he sleeps, the plenty days alone/

She's the light that he sees trying to find his way home/

Way out of his pain and all that he recalls/

Is her beautiful face/

Starin back over his shoulder, he still collects/

Is it the last words she said or the touch of her skin?

Is it the way that she's staring at him walking away?/

You see her prayers and her tears following him/

In the hope that he comes back with more than he is/

With way more than he left with......she's holding it in/

In the hope that he overcomes the stormy sees/

In the hope that he finds himself over again/

Then maybe they could embrace/

Share a passionate kiss under starry-skies/

Feel her heart against his chest, a pounding drum/

Her soft breath under his ear to whisper sweet words/

Her fingers run along his skin to make his heart pace/

It's a promise that they made/

A promise that they hope will last forever and a day/

Wherever you might be, I will always find you, for, you are my 'parralel heart'

Verse 2

Long as you wait/

Long as you keep a special part of me tucked in your chest/

As long as it's out there, there's gotta be a place/

There's gotta be a better time, pray that I return/

Those tears in your eyes be more than I can take/

When you and me drowning and running out of breath/

Standing on the same spot I left you that day/

Till my journey's end, these nightmares will haunt me and keep me awake/

Plenty nights I pray/

That I can find my way back to that place in your heart/

To see your beautiful face/

To feel the warmth in your eyes and the sweet taste of your lips/

I'm going back in time in the hope that I can find/

Maybe reconnect memories that I collect/

So until it's our time......You treasured in my chest

In my heart, this is where you reside/

It's forever you and I/

A promise that we made/

A promise that we hope lasts forever and a day/

Wherever you might be, I will always find you, for, you are my 'parallel heart'!
