Celebrating Africa Day through Wine & Craft

Handcrafts Zimbabwe P/L in partnership with Shamwari Gallery are hosting their first Craft and Wine Fair on Thursday the 25th of May 2017.
The fair is being held at The Shamwari Complex which is at the corner of Second Street and Maasdorp Road in Belgravia and the main focus of the fair is the local cottage industry which will be showcasing different handcrafted goods.
Making up the 30 odd stalls will be 3 wine distributors selling both local and international wines, food stalls selling locally made chocolates, cheese, breads and cured meats and the majority of the stalls will be selling crafts of various kinds.
The craft stalls include handmade jewelry, bespoke clothing and shoes, innovative cutlery, home décor items and children’s products.
For the art lovers, there is a sculpture garden which will feature Robert Bonjesi’s stone sculptures. National Art Merit Award winning artist, Webster Mubayirenyi will also be on hand to exhibit his paintings which are mostly of the Zimbabwean landscape.
To spice up the event even further, the September Band will be providing live entertainment with full bar and catering by Pariah State Café and Pizzeria.
Organisers of the event urge one to bring along the whole family for what promises to be a fun filled Africa Day spent wandering through craft stalls, stocking up on wine and tasting delicious food. Gates open at 10am until 4:30pm. Entry is free for children under the age of 12 while adults pay $2.
