Jam Signal drops new Single, 'Sweet Addiction'

By Peter Tanyanyiwa
Urban-house trio Jam Signal has just dropped a sizzling hot track titled “Sweet Addiction.”
In their latest offering, Jam Signal gave the song warm vocal harmonies and a catchy melodic lyrical hook. The beat is a groovy urban afro percussive sound riding on a medium tempo vide. The “trap” low end and soothing high end are well balanced and mixed by one of Zim’s top producers, C.O.G. Lyrically, the song celebrates independent women who work hard and set the bar in their respective careers.
Jam Signal front man, Osborne Matengenzara said the group was very much excited and happy with the response they have received so far and are confident the single will do well.
“We are confident that like any other Jam Signal song, the song can and will compete on any international platform, we have always given our all when it comes to music,” he said.
Jam signal is a hot young trio who have been heating up stage in and around the capital and beyond as well in the last three years, stepping out boldly to deliver a dynamic and entertaining performance underpinned by their distinctive fusion of urban-house, jazz and Zimbabwe traditional music.
The band comprises Abel Maunga (keyb), Mutswashe Gudlanga (drums) and Osborne Matengenzara (sax), and have performed at several venues and festivals in Harare including Book Cafe, Pariah State, Alliance Francaise and the Zimbabwe-German Society, and at Intwasa Festival in Bulawayo and other festivals in 2014. Their furthest reach so far has been an exciting performance in Kenya through the Zimbabwe-German Society.
“Jam Signal is a 3 peace boy band, we started in 2012 initially as Jazz Band but last year we decided to redefine our sound and introduce vocals and a commercial groove to our music.‬
“Since then we have released 4 singles Jikina, Stuck In My Head, Orlando and recently 'Overrated', all of which were well-received and still get good air play on all the local radio stations,” said Osborne Matengenzara.
