Zim music has been on the rise with amazing new talent being discovered every year. Many different aspects of the industry are being brought to life through the works of these young creative minds, whilst RnB has been playing it low on the side-lines. Masimba Manjengwa (popularly known as Mik) has been putting RnB in Zim on the Map since 2013. Born on the 10th of April 1994, Mik has been passionate about the art of song from the tender age of 5. During his infantry, Mik relocated to the UK where he nurtured his talents learning to read and write music, play the piano and further train as a vocalist. He then returned to the Motherland where he completed his education at Prince Edward High School.

Having worked on multiple projects such as the Heart Strings EP which included tracks like she's gone and Ngirozi which garnered a lot of web and radio attention, Gained him the chance to be signed to one of Zimbabwe's hip-hop stables, Rehab ent, where he had a chance to develop his love of hip- hop. The single This love written by Delani Mkhalima was Mik Manjengwa's standout single where Mik was used as a sectioned vocalist for an artist in S.A but because Mik Manjengwa hit home so much the song was eventually given to him.
Now signed under Njuzu Ent, Mik went fourth and started work on his Debut Album titled Legend Status (A Book About Girls).

This album holds significance to Mik in multiple aspects. Mainly the passing of his father no longer than a year ago, who was his biggest supporter. His father influences the album even down to some of the song selection with songs like 'like ooh' which he had a hand in the production of the video, to Easier where the studio was moved in to the lounge to facilitate the live recording. "My father was a consistent source of inspiration and guidance he was a strong man but had the belief in my talent to help facilitate my dreams, He and my mother have put a lot of effort and sacrifice to get me here and for that I am forever thankful."
The other inspiration behind 'A Book About Girls' is the lessons his learnt through the amazing friends and relationships he had as a young man. This album was to him a fusion of the different sounds and genres he has spent the past few years learning and cultivating. With a trap-soul feel, a bit of house and his unique twist to RnB that we have grown to love this an album with a little bit for everyone to enjoy especially the ladies.
