She is currently riding on the back of the monumental success of what is surely one of, if not, THE song of the year for 2017. The track 'WACHU Want' has gone viral, not only at home but abroad as well. It has single-handedly put the Ammara brand on the global stage.

But if you thought that was the last you'd hear from Ammara, well, think again because her latest single AKILIZ has just shot to the top of the local music charts and gone on to cement her star power.
"I had a moment of anger. Someone I cared about took advantage of my kindness. All I can say in the end is that the best therapy is art", she said, upon being asked what had inspired her new single.
According to the star, the accompanying visuals to AKILIZ will shortly be making their way to our small screens soon. If you have glimpsed any of her previous videos then you'd surely know why 'Ammartians', as her fans are known, are eargerly waiting for the video.

And if that is not enough to whet your appetites, Ammara is about to debut her much anticipated album that is aptly titled "Ammartia"!

To say she has done well, would be the understatement of the year. With a little over 3months to go before the year ends, it is safe to say that Ammara owned 2017!
"2017 has been exciting because I've gotten to experience the power of my brand. I started with a 3 city tour in Australia, followed by the Tehn outta Ten Tour which was a 10 city national tour. Being nominated and winning a NAMA was encouraging and the numerous local and international tours have familiarized me with my Ammartians (fans) which is an immense blessing.
"Winning the two ZIFF awards as an actress has also given me a new drive. Of course there is the growing success of Akiliz. So glad it's already made #1 on the charts, 2 weeks after release. My album is about to debut so I couldn't be more happy", said Ammara.

Even with so many highlights to pick from in as far as the year 2017 is concerned, there's got to be some that are close to her heart.
"I'd have to type a bible to list all my memorable moments. There are too many. I have a lot to be grateful for. But off the top of my head.. sharing a stage and recording with Hugh Masekela. Performing at Joburg theatre with Steve Dyer. Hitting the 1 million mark on numerous music videos. Being a part of Coke studio with Zinhle Ngidi, Mobi Dixon and Sizwe Ngubane. Watching my Ammartians grow into endless legions.. Winning an award as Best Actress .. so much.. God looks after me", she said.

Having done so much in so little a time, we asked the gorgeous singer/songwriter if there was more that she felt she still needed to achieve.
"There's still so much I want to do! I get fan mail from across the continent. It's so exciting to see my brand penetrating foreign markets, and because there has never been a better time to be a African artist, the opportunities are boundless. I want the world to know the true jewels of Zimbabwe are their people, which means I have a long way to go. But I'm so ready for it all", said Brown.

If her achievements so far are anything to go by, this is surely only the start of bigger and better things to come, so brace yourself Zimbabwe.
"Aside from AKILIZ music video and Ammartia release I'm barely sleeping these days because there is so much in the pipeline. What I can say is that it will all definitely filter long into 2018, and beyond but be sure I aim to make Zimbabweans all over the world even more proud", she said.
