For Junior Hlaraka, It Only Gets Better

°My journey in the modeling industry has been full of amazing moments and it is my strong belief that when purpose is rooted in service, everything you desire follows.
"I am here today simply because the people who surround me support me and they all understand my craft and more importantly why I chose modeling. Overall, it has been a very interesting journey that keeps getting better by every small step that I take in building myself as Brand", said South African model, Junior Hlaraka in a recent interview with Urban Craft magazine.

So where and how did it all start?
°It all started when I was 13 ,I would look up magazines, model shows, fashion shows and tv adverts and I was so fascinated by the influence these people had. I told my granny about my new found passion but she told me I should focus on school first. .
"Fastforward to 2014 when I was voted Young Entrepreneur of The Year by Seed Academy and also came second at the 'StepUp to Start Up' competition in Sandton ...that's when I knew that through me being myself I can shape the world, I can influence and inspire someone out there ...that's when I was certain about being a model. What I lacked was the information as to what do when you want to become one ...I thought maybe they scout you from Facebook and Twitter so I started promoting myself on social media and fortunately for me, there were a couple of agencies out there ready to take me in and help further my brand", he said.

Though he is strongly inclined towards photographic modeling, Junior said that he wouldn't mind doing peagents as well.
"Honestly I prefer both because when it comes to modelling it's all about the way you drive and articulate yourself, being down for anything and exploring new forms of art. Whether it's on the photographic side or runway side, just be versatile.
"I have not done any peagents yet, but being that I have the height I see myself faring very well in the coming years. Plus I'll be taking a course on how to be a runway model with The Model Academy this December, so that's as good a place as any to start", said Hlaraka

Born and raised in Tembisa but currently residing in Johanesburg, the young comes across as a goal-oriented individual
"I'm currently in varsity still working on that, but besides school...I am a brand influencer, currently one for Cell Get Black and I have started fashion designing (more of a fashion editor/implementer) and I'll be starting with my acting as well tv presenting classes", he said.

The model/brand influencer/actor and stylist who described himself as "The gentle art" because, "the gentleness of art is in my pictures" lives by a very simple motto.
"In life you win some, you lose some and it is often the destination that teaches you about the journey.Be the change you want to see in your life", said Junior

And as for his targets, this is what Junior had to say,
"Simply put, self-growth and solitude for the remainder of 2017, read more books and learn more about modeling and acting so that 2018 is fruitful. 2018 will be the year to get myself out there and work harder on my craft ...being on more Tv ads, more magazines, more runways and also being on your tv, day in and day out", he said.
