Gustav Legiste, West Africa's New AfroSoul King?

He goes by the name Gustav Legiste and the talented Ghanaian based Togolese singer describes himself as an afrosoul/rnb ballade and afropop artist.
Many will be familiar with his voice from the soundtrack of popular Ghanaian movie, 'Could This Be Love' with which he made his mark and left an impression in the hearts of many.
Besides the soundtrack, Gustav is also well known in the West African region for quite a number of singles, chief among those being 'Love Comes by Itself', 'We Don't Have to Fight' and the more recent one titled 'My Sheeva'.

He is being touted as one of best vocalists from West Africa and is the pride of both Togo and Ghana.
In his short career, he has already shared the same stage with many Ghanaian celebrities, the likes of Efya, Kwabena Kwabena, Ded Body, to mention but a few.

Only last year, the young man was given the Best Upcoming Soul and Afrosoul Singer award by MivaSocial, one Togo's biggest sites.
"Ever since my first single, 'Love Comes by itself' dropped, it has been a whirlwind of a ride, that's for sure! The single has gotten favourable airplay from several media houses in my own country and my popularity has really hit the roof since then.
"I was privileged to be able to organise my very first live concert in 2015..and that same year I was part of Ghaneen Rapper, Aj Nelson's live concert in Osu which inturn also gave me a firm foundation and opportunity to share the stage with so many other great artists.
"Back in November 2016 I was part of Ghanaian songstress Efya's 'Efya and friends' concert at Alliance Francaise (Accra, Ghana) with my Team (BlackBeatEntertainment) and last year honored with the 'best upcoming soul and afrosoul singer' award by MivaSocial for the single 'Don't Judge Me', a track that I did with my personal producer from Ghana, Yaw spoky", said Legiste.

Gustav has definitely hit the ground running in 2018 and has already announced a mouth_watering collaboration with one of Togo's finest, afropop singer Black-T and Gabonnese guitarist and soul singer Ogo GMA that will come out in the year's first quarter.

To top it off, the afropop singer is also in the studio putting together a brand new album that is slated for release in the coming months.
"Actually the single that I released on 05 december is doing so is on heavy rotation on a number of radio stations here and people are loving it. My target for now is to drop a new album of at least 08 or 10 songs sometime this year.
"The album will incorporate a variety of genres, from soul, afrosoul, afropop to reggae and hiphop. The plan is to also feature known artist from both Togo and Ghana in order to grow my fan base", said Gustav.
