Purpose, The Roadmap to Greatness

by Ronald T Mtatabikwa

A great man by the name Morrie Schwartz once said "The road to greatness is always under construction. It is a progressive course, not an end itself". Today we want to construct another way to greatness which is purpose.

Purpose by definition is the reason for doing something, in other words, we can call it determination. Without purpose you can't achieve anything in life. Living without a purpose is the highest level of failure. Benjamin Disraeli once said "The secret is consistency of purpose." For you to be successful, have a purpose and never leave any stone unturned. Have a purpose and live a life free of regrets. Have great hopes and dare to go all out for them. Have great dreams and dare to live them. Have tremendous expectations and believe in them. Obstacles, challenges and adversity are stepping stones to greatness. No matter the problems and difficulties you meet along the way you only have to adhere to your purpose. No matter how slow you go, slow but sure a snail covered a thousand miles.

All great people we admire and whom we call our "icons" had a purpose and knew how to live with it and they were successful. This has been evidenced by Robert J Oppenheimer who once said, "The great and glorious masterpiece of humanity is to know how to live with a purpose".

Ladies and Gentlemen think of purpose as a fuel of the vehicle of life. Without it you will not reach your desired destination. Without purpose you will always fall short. Without purpose you will always get lost. Oh yes, you will lose sight of your goal!! If you have a purpose you are determined to overcome all challenges that impede your progress.

In conclusion, for one to be successful he has to have a clearly defined purpose as it is commonly said "A jack of all trades is a master of none."So have a purpose and succeed.DG
