Jamela's Timely Career Boost Courtesy of Miss-Zim-USA

Memphis, Tennessee based model, Ntombi’Nomzamo Laura Jamela believes that making it onto the podium at the recent Miss Zimbabwe-USA peagent, where she walked away as the First Princess, was just the right boost that her career needed at this particular juncture.

The beauty sees this as probably her best achievement yet and a launchpad for much bigger and better things!
"It was an absolute honor to be selected as 1st Princess, Miss Zim-USA! For the past 4 years I’ve had a great desire to be a part of the pageant, so I am grateful that who I am and what I stand for was able to translate gracefully and with poise when I did decide to enter.
"Winning gave me a great boost in terms of my confidence and prestige, and has gained me many supporters for my platform of education and my pageant career. This is by far the greatest achievement of my modeling and pageantry, and I plan on continuing to represent Zimbabwe through these passions! There's much more to come!", said Jamela.

The model, who was born in Harare, Zimbabwe, raised in Johannesburg, South Africa before moving to the U.S. to further her education sees this as an opportune time to get ahead in as far as her modelling.
She of course graduated from Northern Illinois University with a bachelor's degree in Operations Management & Information systems with a minor in Psychology and Communication.
"Believe it or not, I'm still in the beginning stages of my career! Since graduating from school, I've been concentrating on getting ahead at work. Now that I've paid some dues at my employment though, I can finally begin to put in the proper energy and dedication it takes to make it in this industry!", she said.

Jamela's passion for modelling is undoubted but away from the runway, she still takes pleasure in one or two other pastimes.

"From a young age I have had an interest in modeling which helped me win “Little Miss Black Joliet 2005” at the age of 13 and be a part of a modeling organization in college called Embrace Models.
"Dance, travel, trying out new recipes, and exercising are what I enjoy doing when I'm not on the runway!", said the model.

Ntombi’Nomzamo will get the chance to touch base and connect with the folks back home in Zimbabwe this August, where she is scheduled to take part in a couple of events.
"I will be having two events this August in Zim, one in Bulawayo and the other in Harare. More details will be available the closer we get to the date so stay tuned to my IG @Lauralyn_Jamela!", she said.
