NO MIND STATE Readies Debut EP

Norwegian band, No Mind State is set to make its mark on the music industry this June the 15th with the release of a debut EP titled 'Rubber & Glue'.
According to the rock group, the EP will serve, not only as a firm foundation for their brand but also as a prequel to a debut album that will follow in the coming months.

"So far we have been working on material that is about to be released through an EP that we are launching on the 15th of June and which will be available on all streaming services.
"In-between we have been playing at a handful of gigs to expand our brand in the industry. With this new material, we are loading all the guns, and we ready to bring our name and music out into the world in full force!
"After two intense weeks in the studio, we`ve also recorded our debut album which will include a bunch of hard-hitting tracks that will be available early next year. Our focus for now however remains the EP and as such, we have a 'release concert' in the heart of Oslo on the 23rd of June. The rest of the summer we will focus on finishing the post production for our album, and playing at a couple of festivals. After the summer we will focus on gigging as much as humanly possible around the country to actively spread the No Mind State brand to as many people as possible", said Christian Gathe, the group's drummer.

Having already released a couple of singles thus far, the band hopes that the EP will help establish their brand even further.
"Our two first singles have been played a handful times on national radio, but as we all know it is tough in the beginning to get noticed abroad. Therefore we are putting a lot of effort into social media to spread the word internationally, and hopefully we`ll eventually make a mark in the industry when more music is released", said Gathe.

With rock bands everywhere around the world not finding it particularly easy in this new era, least of all Norway, the group has found a ready market and following for their music in places like the UK and United States.
"No Mind State started out as a prog rock group, but after the drummer and bassist joined the team, this turned out to be a great combination of musicians and the music naturally flowed in a more catchy rock direction. No Mind State went from being a hobby to something more. It is not a secret that it is tough being a rock band these days. We now work very hard to stay active through social media, playing gigs and recording in the studio.
"This is not only to stay relevant, but also to efficiently market our music locally and abroad. Norway isn't that big when it comes to our genre, therefore we've found a more enthusiastic audience abroad, especially in the UK & USA. Last fall we played at the Water Rats Theater in London where we gained ourselves a loyal following. These days our time is focused on gigging around Norway and recording in the studio", said the drummer.

"I would have to say that our gig in London last fall helped us a lot and we gained a strong local following there. Also as a Norwegian band playing in London really plays well at home with the Norwegian industry", he added.

Apart from making their own music, No Mind State is also involved in a few other projects in which they lend their talents to.
"While we have been making new music for No Mind State, we we`re also involved with an semi acoustic grungerock project called “The Best Test Pilots” which released an EP a while ago. This was written by our bassist Vegard Tveito and our good friend Thomas Torheim, but was fully recorded and produced by myself and our vocalist Henrik Sørebø. Henrik also featured on the song “Set in Stone” as a vocalist, all songs can be found on Spotify", said Christian.
