Glen French's 'Americana Dream'

Glen French describes winning Artist of the Year in the Americana genre as being a major turning point in his career.
"This recognition was by The Akademia Music Awards. Worldwide internet radio is a very positive approach by Akademia also. Two #1 singles based on the number of spins listener response, and song requests. These songs are titled 'Save A Warm Place For Me' and 'Young Boy's Eyes'. Akademia has been given a bad rap in certain circles but they are BBB rated as A-. I was recently interviewed by KCKQ 1180 AM radio. They gave airplay to the two #1 singles mentioned", said the musician.

With a musical journey that has spanned almost 25 years, Glen has without a doubt seen and heard it all  he has also made a lot of wonderful music and memories over those years.
"I've fallen for some scams along the way. Recorded a self-titled solo acoustic CD in 2000. The instruments used were acoustic guitar, mandolin, bass, acoustic slide guitar and xylophone. Vocals were recorded simultaneously on acoustic guitar.
"The 'Timeless' and 'Snowblind' CDs were recorded in Nashville produced by Steve Haggard. These recordings included fiddle, mandolin, dobro, acoustic and electric guitar, organ, bass, harmonica, and organ", he said.

The musician has bagged himself a number of accolades as well along his amazing journey in the industry and some of those awards include "Snowblind" for Album of the Year (the albums title track also won an award on its own). His other singles that scooped awards include "The Last Indian" (with his son, Mike on drums), "The Highway Is My Home", "Young Boy's Eyes", and "Save A Warm Place For Me", to mention but a few.

Glens current projects include more compositions of Americana and Folk songs. The artist also remains active on the live show circuit and performs occasionally at open mics and small clubs as a solo act.
He also revealed to Urban Craft magazine in our brief but insightful chat that a CD titled "Save A Warm Place For Me" was in the works. Further details on the project will be made in due course.
