Ian Roland's 'Other-Worldly' Work of Art

"We can create hell on earth quite successfully and are doing so increasingly, as nationalist politics takes hold in the USA and Europe", said British singer/songwriter Ian Roland while talking about his bands latest offering - a work of art that is reflective of the current state that our world is in right now.

Titled The Valley', the EP has in recent weeks been made available on online platforms such as Spotify, iTunes, Bandcamp and the bands website www.ianroland.com. While highlighting some of the socio-political ills that plague our world today, the EPs main running themes revolve around hope and togetherness.
"It's inspired by the search for a more meaningful way to live...The EP is meant to give hope and a collective sense that we all need to help each other through the current dark days and those ahead", said Ian.

The title track to the EP is already doing the rounds on the local and international scene and the musician describes the accompanying visuals as being 'other-worldly'.
"We also filmed a video for the song in the Sussex Downs countryside near to where we live and it has an 'other-worldliness' about it, which is what we were aiming for", he said.

Rave reviews from all over the world are also coming in thick and fast - showing just how much the project is touching listeners out there.
"...cracking songs, entertaining and variedpacked with memorable tunes, upbeat, positive lyrics and fab playing", writes Phil Widdows, FolkCast.

Since 2015, when Ian and Simon started performing live as a duo, they have played 150 + gigs in Folk Clubs, Acoustic Nights and Pubs in Brighton, Bristol, Cambridge, London, Sussex and Kent. They have now teamed up with Brione Jackson, who has extended the range and depth of sound, adding sublime cello and vocal parts.

Under the direction of producer, Nigel Stonier (Thea Gilmore, The Waterboys, Joan Baez, Martha Wainwright, Fairport Convention et al), the trio have released two EPs, Day Became You and The Valley.
