Irene Atieno Is A Believer!

Aspiring Kenyan model, Irene Atieno wrote to us recently, expressing a desire to share her own story with the world and Urban Craft magazine was all too happy to oblige her request.

Below is her story, in her very own words............

I am still relatively new to the industry and looking forward to putting my work and my talents out there for the rest of the world to see in the coming years.
I think being an upcoming commercial model and Vixen feels great as long as you have the support...I started my journey in a group called TMT and La Noustra Squadra where I was taught to walk in a runway, then was a vixen in a song called Umeni Mada by Chy Cire...after that I was fortunate enough to get signed by an agency called House of Legacy.

Away from modelling, I often find myself immersed in my other passions, dancing and acting. Not only do they challenge me creatively but they also give me a chance to positively impact the world.

I would like to believe that I am making a difference through my dance crew (Airforce One), by showing other youths that, you can do anything as long as you believe in yourself. At the end of the day it is all about that self-belief and the faith that you were put here on earth for a reason.

Right now I am focused on knowing myself better and I believe that after that I will be in a better position to inspire the younger generation.

I want to change my community and the world around us through modelling (and my other talents). I want to make people believe that your talent can still take you far. Apart from that I also want to change my familys' way of life and I believe that it is only a matter of time before I realize my goals!
