Jaiz Shares His Passion for Music

For American hiphop artist, Jaiz music is way much more than just sound, it is “a passion that's eternally embedded in my heart”.
“It is conveyed through the flow of poetic rhymes by the artist inside known as Jaiz. My roots in music start with my late brother Doug and late Grandfather. My work ethic with music was born from the amount of practice and passion I felt by simply watching them. My brother Doug was like my own personal artistic hero and idol. I knew music was an art form by the standard he set. It wasn't long until I found myself participating in poetry contests and school talent shows. For as long as I can remember, I've lived to be creative.
“My creativity and artistry is a foundation I have spent a lifetime to build and to expand. Taking away the ability to express myself artistically would be like taking away the air I need to breathe. Art imitates life, and I give my life through my art. The microphone is life's megaphone to spread my message to the world. I want to move people with my music. I want my music to not only be heard through the ears, but by the soul, heart, and mind. My art isn't limited to one form of expression. It is expressed through website design, album covers and artwork, music videos, and other visual elements and auditory sound. My artistic expression has been displayed all over the world through many platforms. Platforms such as national radio, magazines, music blogs, music sites, mixtapes, clubs, video sites, etc. The exposure keeps on growing, and I am excited to see how far I can take my music”, explained the musician.
Having started off like every other musician out there, chasing fame, Jaiz eventually focused his energy on lyrics that connect more with his fans.
“In the early stages of my journey through music, I daydreamed of the glitz and glamour that would be obtained through fame. I wanted to be the next big thing in music. Over time, that daydream would fade. My desire with my music became much more about wanting listeners to connect with words I wrote, and the emotion I expressed. I no longer wish for the glitz and glamour. I hope to be remembered as a respected independent artist.
“An artist with not only a good sound, but also an artist who really had words of substance that needed to be heard. When making music became more of a business venture, I found myself connecting less and less with the passion of just making good music. Being a one man band so to speak, marketing, designing my own album covers and artwork, and managing all of my social media can be a full-time job. It can be very overwhelming, but making music that connects with the world makes it all worthwhile”, he said.

Apart from the honor of being the #1 ranked hiphop artist in the world on reverbnation, at one time, the rapper has also achieved the feat on Numberonemusic and Soundclick.
Jaiz has over the years accumulated a combined multi-million views on various video platforms and even featured on celebrated rapper, 50 cent's official website ThisIs50.com.
He has also featured in various other magazines that include Jamsphere magazine, American Pride magazine, Poze magazine, Niji magazine, among others.
“ I've done interviews/featured on various radio shows including Jiggy Jaguar national radio, DTong Radio, A.V.A. Live Radio, Quinn Spinn Radio, iHeartRadio, and Pandora Radio. I have featured on various mixtapes which includes a feature on a Young Money mixtape. I've been featured on many blogs/music review sites including Underground hip hop blog, Shadows Records, Da Hip Hop Place, Rapbeats.net, and Scoop. One accomplishment that was a huge honor was being a songwriter for Songs Of Love foundation.
“With Songs Of Love Foundation, I was privileged enough with the opportunity to make personalized songs to help children cope with physical and mental challenges they face on a daily basis. It is very inspiring to be able to create something that makes a positive difference and impact in a person's life”, he said.

The artist is someone who likes to keep his finger on the pulse of the fast paced world of digital music.
“If I were to calculate all the songs I have made, it would probably be equal to about 5 albums worth of songs. Among the other projects I have already mentioned in this interview, I also have became engrossed with other projects. Projects such as video editing, creating YouTube channel trailers, making designs for future merchandise, creating artwork for artist photos  and albums covers, working on website design, studying marketing, and keeping my finger on the pulse of the fast paced world of digital music.
“I also maintain a music blog composed of rss feeds on my website for music enthusiasts hoping to learn more about music marketing, music production, and much more to provide insight in the world of independent music”, said Jaiz.
