Emerging South African hiphop artist Ombràge Ami is looking to end the first quarter of the year on high note with the release of a brand new EP.

The ever busy rapper is currently in the studio putting the final touches to an upcoming EP that she has chosen to title ‘Mixed Emotions’.
“I’m working on my EP right now and though I cannot really say the exact date of its release, I’ll be dropping 1 or 2 singles around April/May before I drop my EP titled Mixed Emotions. The project will consist of 6 tracks that will be produced by Kefmaster and the reason I titled it ‘Mixed Emotions’ is because of the situations I’ve been through so the title really adds up with everything”, said Ombràge Ami, whose real name is Thembelihle Mncube.

For the rapper/singer, model, brand ambassador, part time actress and a Law student in Boston, the EP is but a reflection of her own life’s experiences, ones that she hopes her fans will be able to identify with given their commonality.
“I explored quite a number of issues on this project, one of those being depression because I faced it last year and I could not believe that I was actually going through it, the other tracks talk about bad friends/influences, pressure and life in general,
“The main inspiration behind this body of work was me and to the other people out there that have faced the same situations I’ve been through, people who can relate, I want to send a message to them that no matter how bad or hard it gets, they should never give up on themselves”, she added.

Ombràge Ami has of course made her name with projects like Own lane (2016) Wild life (2017) Own lane Remix (2018) Fake Friends (2018) Empire (2018), to mention but a few. She attributes her progress thus far to her ‘never give up’ spirit and belief in her own ability.
“I wouldn’t go as far as to say I’ve come very far but I’ve pushed a lot and I worked so hard to be where I am right now for the past few years. It wasn’t easy but still I never gave up because it has always been my dream.
“It has been a great journey but also a challenging one at times because it requires a lot of effort and and I believe that with music you need to be more creative and think outside the box. I started off by doing free gigs, performing to showcase my work and be known out there. I just saw myself on stage performing and the most exciting part was that everyone supported and loved my music, which really meant a lot to me as an artist. Perfecting my work means a lot because I really respect the people who listen to my music and I believe that they deserve quality when it comes to music”, said the 22 year old.

For the artist who refers to her faithful followers as the ‘Ami Gang’, the best is yet to come and the only way from here on is up!
“I have shared the stage with ‘Scandal’ actress ‘Kgomotso’ at the ladies night event at Esilo house, Bantu Elements at Dandelion fundraising event, I have also worked with Meme and many more actors on a drama called ‘Mamello’ and got featured on a drama called ‘Nkalakatha’ on Mzansi Bioskop. I’m very proud and grateful of what I’ve achieved thus far in life and not forgetting that I occasionally work with Brown Nkosi, the founder of Blxck Freakx, he’s the one who normally prepares me for my photoshoots. It really means a lot to me and I know that the best is yet to come”, said Ombràge Ami.

In closing, the beauty said she was looking forward to finishing her studies, doing more music, more live shows, radio/tv interviews, photoshoots, collaborations, putting her name out there and of course growing a solid fan base.
