The gorgeous teen started modelling at the age of 12 when she enrolled with the Ace Models International (Bloemfontein branch) under the mentorship of Anri Powell.
“I must say, it has been such an incredible journey with lots of achievements and a few challenges. I have achieved so much, there has never been a time when I got on stage and didn’t make the top 3, except when I was 13 and entered the Miss Teen Free State, I lost and cried the whole weekend. That also taught me a lot and encouraged me to never give up. I’ve accomplished quite a lot in such a short period of time and it has made me realize how passionate and committed I am in this.
“Challenges were there as the journey progressed but I have never allowed them to be obstacles. I came to a point where I used my passion as a fashion designer to overcome life's unplanned circumstances, for instance, not being able to afford expensive material never stopped me, I resorted to designing and making clothes out of re-cycled materials. I was featured in the SABC's series called Behind the rainbow. An episode that shows how SA talented kids from different backgrounds who have managed to use their passion to overcome obstacles. Like most beauty queens, Zandile is very active in her community and she even founded her own charity organization.

Apart from that she hopes to put her designing skills to better use by starting her own fashion line in the coming months.
“I have been working on my own charity project which I named "Ongoing Project" and I have been running this project from home since 2016. I collect second hand clothes from friends and family and distribute them to the community through various charity organizations when the need arises. This project is very close to my heart and it has been a testimony of what my mom has always taught me that you dont have to have lots of money to be a giver, you can give the little that you have as long as it comes from your heart and it serves the purpose to the receiver. For 2018 only I managed to clothe 689 people, adults and children included. That alone gave me so much satisfaction.
“The other project that I am working on is my own clothing line. I am a very talented designer and hoping to launch my clothing line and label by the end of this year. At the moment I am only designing/making my own peagent dresses and those of my close friends and family as well”, said the model.

The grade 11 pupil at the Brebner High School in Bloemfontein Free State wants to finish school, go to University and study Psychology up to PHD level.
“Modelling and fashion will still be part of my journey through life as I continue with my academic career. I will continue to build Zandile Masia as a brand until it reaches the level that I am aiming for”, said Zandile.
