Asked what drove him, hiphop artist, Killy Shoot kept it simple enough. His response had two key ‘motivators’, family and his love for hiphop!

Music provides an outlet, not only to his thoughts and emotions but also an ‘outlet’, in terms of it being his one-way ticket to a better life.
“My family drives me because they keep me focused on the right path, not to fall back into my old life, they give me strength. I want them to see that a man can change and truly live his dream and not be consumed by the street. I don’t want to work that 9-5 forever struggling just to get by, I want a better life for them and through the music maybe I can achieve that shit. The other reason is purely love of the craft, I wrote in hallways, park benches, a cold cell, etc writing is just something I will always do, crafting these rhymes is just in the blood”, said Killy Shoot on the sidelines of announcing that he was working on all of 3 albums for the remainder of 2019.

Opening up about what he was working on in the studio at this present moment, this is what the exceptional lyricist had to say,
“Right now I’m currently working on an album with Ras Beats, we have a single joint out now called ‘The Grip’ which is buzzing. I’m also working on 2 more projects this year, one with my ‘HomeTeam’ brother Onaje Jordan titled ‘Heavy Math’ and 1 more project with Free Mind called ‘Soul Of Wor’. I like to stay busy and this year those are the 3 albums I’m truly focused upon.
“My goal is to keep working, I do features with artist a lot and love to build, but right now it’s mainly working on these 3 albums for the remainder of this year. My long term goal is to continue to build with my brothers of HomeTeam and continue to create something that is bigger than we could have ever imagined, make enough bread to be comfortable and continue making that raw street shit”, he said.

His music has found its way to quite a number of radio stations, both at home and abroad. It is something that Killy Shoot looks upon with pride and something that he attributes his unique sound to.
“It has been a wild journey but a sweet one. I have gotten the opportunity to have my music played on radio at home and overseas which is always something dope to me. My music has been played on Shade 45, DJ Muggs ‘Soul Assassin Radio’, Cutsupreme show out in Long Island, Guerrilla Grooves Radio in the Bronx, Wreck FM outta the UK, PF Cuttin’s East NY Radio, DJ JazzyWhut in Australia, WRAP FM and then some, I know I’m missing a few but that’s just some of the major ones that have been playing that ‘Ill Kill’ sound.
“I’d however have to say that the biggest highlight was releasing the Free Mind produced album “The Balance of Man” it was a very personal album about my life growing up in Main south Worcester, Massachusetts”, said the rapper.

Out of a range of impactful projects, the rapper picked for us two of his favorite, projects that he feels had enough substance and made their presence felt on the market.
“The most recent would be my brother, General Back Pain’s “Bovine” project produced by Flu. To be part of something with your family is always special and to see it do well is the cherry on top. I would also have to put my album “Balance of Man” on that list as well, that album really gave people a more profound look into Killy Shoot”, he said.
