Having spent the better part of a decade jumping from one band to the other, US singer Rachael Teixeira feels that striking out on her own as a solo artist has given her music career new impetus and as such, she is hoping to build upon that momentum going forward.

Apart from confirming as much in a recent interview with Urban Craft magazine, the beautiful and talented vocalist offered up an update in regards to her much anticipated second EP and also gave us a peek into her journey so far.
“I have spent the last 10 years performing with different bands in various roles. Performing live is something that I truly enjoy, but it wasn't until I released my first solo work last year that I realized that the writing/recording/production piece of the puzzle was the thing that really sparked my joy and excitement the most.  Because I have only released one project thus far, there isn't anything notable that I have been a part of yet, but momentum is picking up for me and I have had lots of invitations to collaborate with other musicians that I admire and enjoy”, said Rachael.

According to the singer/songwriter, her EP, which she said was 'a blast to make' and a wonderful collection of songs, is now in the mixing phase.
“I am currently in the mix phase of my second EP called "What Happens If I Let It Out?" that should be out this fall!  It's a beautiful collection of songs about the way that we humans repress our true thoughts, feelings, emotions just to function within society.  Sometimes repression/suppression can be a good thing in our lives, other times it can a tragedy, depending on how we look at it. This album was a blast to make, I got to use a bunch of fun instruments (autoharp, flute, coronet, harp)”, she added.

It is Rachael's hope that she can continue learning more about music production and figuring out new ways of how to touch the minds and hearts of her audience. Producing for other artists is also something that the singer is very keen on.
“I am a very strange person with a unique set of abilities that only seen to make sense within the context of music.  I feel the most alive when I am creating something, even if the result is not that great.
“My immediate goal is to continue learning and growing in my recording and arranging abilities so that I can better capture the feeling of a song. Long term, I would like to be able to create a wide and varied body of work that I am proud of. I would also like to produce for other people as well. I really enjoy the process of bringing other people's musical vision to life”, she said.

Having come thus far, Rachael believes that having the right people in your corner is a definite plus and something that every artist should have. She took the opportunity to appreciate the support that she has had from those in her own circle, from the band members to the friends and collaborators.
“The first part of my music career revolved around live performance. I developed my voice while singing lead for various bands. For me, the highlights of making music revolve around the actual process of writing and recording music with some of my favorite people in the world. I don't think there could be any reward better than that. I am blessed to have band mates and collaborators that support me and help me in the rougher moments of music making. We're all lifetime friends, and half of us are married to each other in real life, which makes it interesting to say the least”, she said.
