Following on the heels of their partnership with Urban Craft to promote and showcase talent in the Matebeland region, we sat down with Brayzz Africa CEO/founder, Keilloe Prejon and he shared with us the background and goals that led to this joint venture.
Below is how the brief but enlightening conversation went.

How did this partnership between Brayzz Africa and Urban Craft come about?

Keilloe: Its been a long time coming and we have been working on multiple ways to promote entertainment in Zimbabwe as Brayzz Africa. Then we found a new partner in Urban Craft Magazine a new platform made specially for those who love the arts and entertainment.
As the leader of Brayzz Africa Enterprises I thought it would be best for entertainment in Zimbabwe if we partnered with Urban Craft Magazine as the new re-Branded Brayzz Africa. This partnership would bring about a platform that will showcase everything "Entertainment" in Matebeleland. This partnership came about out of the realization that the arts and entertainment sector in Matabeleland needed more and better coverage. The hope is that we have created a platform from where our entertainers can   showcase their different skills. Our main focus is of course on Matabeleland (Bulawayo, Hwange and Victoria falls) but that does not mean we will forget the other local regions.

Can you give us a background into what inspired this whole idea?

Keilloe: In these 3 years that we have been in the entertainment industry, we have worked with a lot of Djz, Models and Artists in Matabeleland, hence I have also learnt a lot from entertainment in Zim and I can safely say that I believe in the Matebele arts but the one thing that they find hard to get is exposure and better platforms to showcase their skills Our hope is that this platform we created with Urban Craft magazine will meet the needs for local and upcoming acts in this particular region and beyond. Their drive and "I can do it" mentality has inspired me to create more and give more especially on this platform.

Which areas will your coverage be specifically targeted?

Keilloe: Our main focus is on Zimbabwe's Matabeleland region for now but eventually the goal is for us to go beyond that so if you're one of those people who love & follow local entertainment this would be the best place to get only 'what's haute' in entertainment, street fashion and hiphop. This newly added platform on Urban craft magazine will give you the very best in interviews, latest news and what's trending as well as added features where you can tell us who you want to see us interview next on the local market.

What do you think the initiative means for this region and its artists?

Keilloe: On one of the many articles that I am writing includes ways to promote yourself as a hiphop model, artist or anything else related to entertainment and this initiative is one of the many ways an entertainer can use to promote their brands. Platforms like magazines, blogs and social media are definitely a part of the basics of getting yourself started or simply for basic recognition. It is definitely a good one especially for acts that know what they are doing and why. This is some of the stuff I always tell artists and models at Brayzz to fully utilize because you never know who is on the lookout. The fact that you can not see them does not mean they are not there. Most people in our many regions are failing to buy hard copy magazines but Urban Craft magazine comes conveniently through PDF files which you can download on your smart phone and browse through in the comfort of your home or office.

What other regions will you be targeting next?

Keilloe: Recently at Brayzz Africa we have been working tirelessly on the south African market trying to launch the Brayzz brand in south Africa, so most definitely the rest of Africa and globe will follow soon after (that includes Nigeria other active hip hop countries in Europe). With Urban Craft, wee are looking forward and working on creating a huge distribution channel for local entertainers and we would also want to teach this same upcoming talent and make them aware of the best ways to be successfull in their respective careers. We are looking forward to a good working relationship between the new re-branded Brayzz Africa and Urban Craft Magazine, as well as with the entertainers in Zimbabwe. Work has already begun behind the scenes and progress has started for this partnership and you can also be a part of this initiative by simply going online and requesting which entertainers you would like us to interview on our platform.

> In Addition Brayzz Africa is now in Harare, if you're interested in this Brand make sure you look out for the venue for our first meeting and activities in Harare.

See you soon . . .
