Cal_Vin, the Bulawayo-based and multi award winning rapper will
lead a strong contingent of rappers when the Pass Me The Mic Hiphop Tour touches
down in the City of Kings this October.
He will be ably supported by fellow Zimbabwe hip-hop giant:
P.O.Y, Floppy X, Benny Jones, Cliff Jeans, Mc Troy, Lee_Zie Tailor, Guluva
Se7en Deejay Krazy Black & Special guest artist. The event itself is set to
be hosted by Zimbabwe's finest jazz queen, the one and only Lee Mc Honey.
"We are now finally hosting this event for the first
time in Zimbabwe and in one of the major Cities, that of course being the city
of Bulawayo. Pass Me The Mic Hip-hop Tour Africa has been promising to touch
down in Bulawayo and help artists who are struggling with platforms/events that
help them showcase their talents and build their fan base in the entire African
continent.
"We as "Pass Me The Mic Hip-hop Tour Africa (South
African established event) envision African up and coming hip-hop artists as
the next big acts that will be established and mostly celebrated in the entire
African continent and we are looking forward to getting them collaborations
with other African acts, shoot music videos that will show on major African
Television channels such as Trace Africa, Channel O, Mtv Base etc and not to
forget helping with radio airplays from most of major radio stations all across
African countries in the near future", said organiser, Cool Jones.
"For now our main focus is to see these hip-hop artists
getting out of their homes where they perform for their bedroom mirrors taking
it to the real crowd that will help them perfect their performing skills and
help them make their mark as well as being recognized for becoming the 'faces'
of "Pass Me The Mic Hip-hop Tour Africa", added the PMTMHTA C.E.O.
Speaking to Urban Craft magazine, The Esigodini born
promoter Gracious Dube acknowledged in music circles as Cool Jones continues said
that they had been registering artists since the beginning of the month.
This year's event will Sunday the 29th of October 2017 and registering
up to 30 hip-hop artists from every city in Zimbabwe, registration fee is US10 and
the Winning prices: 1st $150, 2nd $70, 3rd $50 respectively.
All the registered artists will have their songs on a compilation
that will be called Zim Hip-hop hits 2017 and the event organisers promise to
distribute this compilation to radio stations and deejays.
