Urban soul singer and entertainer TABIA has been working on her material for over 2 years now, writing and arranging her...

TABIA has shared the stage
with some of SA's finest artists and she
recently won a SOUMA AWARD (South
African Up Coming Music Awards) for
best Afro/Soul. Her brand
underwent a structure shift late last
year stemming from a strong desire to take TABIA's music
to the people and her music was
well received by AFRICAN CREST RADIO, ALEX
FM AND TSHWANE FM and METRO FM. She
was also at the Semi-‐Finals for
the CMS Unplugged (Castle Milk Stout
Unplugged).
TABIA appeared on Yo-‐Tv for an
interview and the demand was more
than expected and it opened doors for
her as a solo artist. Through her
powerful, strong and unique voice that
stands out and her music she was
the Semi-‐finalist at the CastleMilkStout
Unplugged talent search on Metro FM
but couldn't go through coz of the
type and style of her music but
that alone created enough of a buzz for
her and increased her fan base significantly.
The singer has performed on even bigger
stages such as Macufe, Oldies festival,
Miss SA 2011, Capetown Jazz Festival etc
BACKGROUND
THEMBEKA KHUMALO was born on
the 28th of November in the dusty
streets of Soweto, Diepkloof and started singing
at a very young age.
At the age of 15 she won
a competition called TALENT EVENING SEARCH
where she was the only and the
first black person to win. She had an opportunity
to meet and to be mentored by
Liesl from JAMALE.
It was in 2009 that things changed and she
decided to become a professional artist. Khamalo was
then introduced and did her first
professional show with the legend himself
SIPHO HOTSTIX MABUSE.
Working with him opened lots
and lots of doors for her as
she started meeting and working with
other artists such as CAMAGWINI:
MAFIKIZOLO: MONEOA: MALEH and POSELETSO
SEJOSINGOE, to mention but a few.
Along her music journey she
was honored to share a stage with
the 3 South African Diva's mamaTHANDI
KLASSEN, mamaABIGIAL KUBHEKA and
mamaDOROTHY MASUKU, She shared a stage
with big overseas artists as well
such as KEITH SWEAT at (Oldies
Festival), ANTHONY HAMILTON (MACUFE) and MONIQUE (LESOTHO
festival).
She did TV shows doing
backing for artists such as LIVE
AMP, AFRO-‐CAFE, SUN-‐RISE
and MY WORLD. She's looking forward to sharing her
gift with the world and be exposed
to the world wide music audience while
at the same time bringing back the long lost sound
of Africa!
