Jamaican singer-songwriter/reggae artist, Gia Yee says she is 'beyond thrilled' with how her forthcoming album is shaping up and is 'anxiously waiting' its release.
"I’m beyond thrilled with how the album has turned out, and am anxiously awaiting its very soon release. At the moment I’m working on marketing materials for the release, and will be looking forward to producing some lyric and music videos to accompany the new songs. "Scheduled for a 2018 end-of-summer release, I chose the title REGGAE PRESCRIPTION for my new album, as I felt it chronicled and was representative of my transformational experience. I wanted to stay true to reggae and within my smooth reggae fusion artist signature style, which I believe was definitely accomplished with the LP.
"I describe my new album REGGAE PRESCRIPTION as a cultural roots reggae fusion mix, as it includes roots reggae with some ska beats and dancehall riddims, with fusions and hints of classic funk and vinyl, R&B, and just a touch of EDM", she said.

REGGAE PRESCRIPTION, according to the Jamaican, is a body of work that explores a wide-variety sounds and themes as well - chief among those being self-consciousness and love, to name a few.
"The LP song list includes consciousness-raising tracks “GASLIT”, “ERASED”, “BOTH FEET”, and “ANYTHING”; an upbeat funk infused cultural blending love song called “YO RASTA”, featuring the hidden DJ chanting talents of my co-producer Mr. Kirk Gayle (aka Neil Keys); two renditions of a self-reflective song “NOTE TO SELF”, presented with horns and a European ska flare; a dancehall and EDM influenced dance tune entitled “MY AVATAR”, whose lyrics takes its listeners on a ‘dance in the moonlight’; “ISLAND NIGHTS” which embodies the island sounds to the fullest; and the ballad of “RASTA JACK”, which takes one on a timeless trip connecting past and present - through a song that I wrote as an illustration of what I believe true love looks like in its most simplistic form", said Gia.

The whole process of making the album, from the songwriting itself to recording and mastering has been a special one for exceptionally talented and beautiful artist.
"Being someone with so much to say, I was writing and composing songs throughout the later part of 2017, with the goal of producing an entire full-length album by the end of the year. Although ambitious, this goal eventually came to fruition, as I returned to Jamaica with my songs by the start of 2018 to begin production with close friends and co-producers Mr. Kirk Gayle and Wayne Holness, who helped to facilitate the project. It was such an amazing experience as my very talented co-producers had arranged for me to work with some of the top talent in Jamaica, who provided their amazing skills and expertise to help bring my new album songs to new heights", she explained.

Having faced quite a few ups -and- downs earlier on in life, singing presented Gia with an opportunity to start her life anew, music became therapy and a place of refuge.
"Born to a father who is Jamaican Chinese and a mother of African decent, I was a child of the 60’s, a teen of the 70’s, a college student in the 80’s, an entrepreneur, wife and mother of 3 by the early 90’s, an empty nester, spousal abuse survivor and widow by 2015 … I began my music career in 2016 when I was faced with both the need and opportunity to forge a new life and move forward. Writing music became my therapy, and reggae music became my refuge", said the reggae artist.

It wasn't long before the singer-songwriter had broken through the ranks and announced herself on the music scene as a force to reckon with. "I decided to form a company and label called One Heart Entertainment, and produced my first solo self-titled EP, which was released in May of 2017. The debut EP-Gia Yee, gave me a sense of accomplishment as it received airplay on a fair amount of radio stations in the States, the Caribbean and abroad, and also received press coverage and media exposer, which included a spot on the Jamaican TV show iStage, highlighting 3 of the EPs songs and their music videos", she said.

The musician who describes herself as someone "....aspiring to connect with others through the love of and expression of music, hoping to have a positive, uplifting and thought provoking influence on those that may tune in to listen...." said she was looking forward to expanding her brand through more collaborations and of course getting out on the road and touring in the not - too - distant future.
"I’m very much looking forward to future performances, and a European Tour for the Summer of 2019 is currently in the works, as well as gearing up for some possible new singles and collaborations, once I catch my breath.
"In the meantime I’m hoping that my loyal supporters and new listeners may stay tuned, find and follow me on my website , YouTube Channel, Spotify, iTunes, AmazonMusic, CDbaby & on the social media sites, Facebook, Instagram & Twitter, as I work towards continued connecting through the love of music", said Gia.
