With the teaser portion of her tour across America having kicked off on the 19th of February, Washington DC based singer Emma G is super-excited and raring to go!

Her aptly titled ‘SUPERHERO Tour’ is set to commence on the 21st of March and will encompass cities such as Brooklyn, Baltimore, Manhattan, Philadelphia, Queens, Albany, Portland, Memphis, Dallas and Austin, to mention but a few.
“The teaser portion of the tour started on Tuesday (19 February) in NYC. The second show is in Washington DC the following day (today), and the third one is on Friday in Baltimore. Then we have just under a month off, before we hit the road properly on March 21 at New York City’s Rockwood Music Hall, before going as far north as Portland, Maine, and as far south as Austin, Texas. For that portion of the show, we will be doing 19 shows and will be on the road for 39 days”, said a visibly ecstatic Emma G.

As to what her fans can expect for the duration of the tour, this is what the talented musician had to say……….
“We will be performing most of the songs from my Taking Flight album (including my latest single SUPERHERO), as well as five – six new tunes, which will actually be released as a live EP! We will also be performing several covers of socially active songs that feature on my brand new SUPERHERO calendar that comes out tomorrow (2/20)! There might also be a few new tricks – including a bubble machine!” she said.

Her tour is of course named after her latest release by the same name that she is trying to promote by taking to the people.
“It’s tough as an indie artist sometimes to promote everything yourself – figuring out how to get it on the radio, or gain media coverage. The song is slowly picking up momentum, but these things take time, so I’m excited to see what comes from the tour!”, said the musician.

Apart from the tour Emma promised that her fans would be in for a treat as there was so much more to look forward to for 2019 and beyond. She even teased that an album was in the pipeline,
“I’ll be releasing two – three more singles this year – including a song I wrote for a fantastic organization here in the DC/Maryland/Virginia area called The Author Incubator. The song is called ‘Together We Rise’ and is already featured on a documentary that is currently doing the film festival circuit, and will be fully released in September. My next single is released May 1 – immediately after we get back from tour – and is called SMILE. Meanwhile, my new band: Joey J Drums (www.facebook.com/joeyjdrums) and DJ Reality Check (www.facebook.com/djrealitycheck) and I are heading in to the studio in May to start working on my next album, which I’m SO excited about!! Just wait till the next album drops though – you’re going to be in for a treat!”, she said.

Having been born with a health condition that left her needing 10 brain surgeries, and 24 surgeries in total. Music was both an escape and a way for a much younger Emma to express herself.
“Music was my way of expressing who I am, and how I felt. I recorded and released my first song ‘LOOK AROUND’ when I was ten (all about poverty and environmental awareness), before then winning a national songwriting competition at age 14. But then ‘teenagehood’ hit, and I didn’t really get serious with music again until I was 21, when I moved to Auckland, New Zealand (where I’m from), and put together a hard rock band called Static Era.
“We released eight singles, two EP’s and one album that charted, but it wasn’t until I moved to America – to Washington DC – that I really started making headway. In the last three years, I’ve released three singles, an EP, an album, and this will be my third tour! It’s a lot of work, a lot of learning, but I’m also really lucky to now have a team around me: my band, and my boyfriend Mark are the most helpful humans ever! In fact, most of the people I meet are incredibly helpful, and I’m very lucky to not only be able to make a living doing music, but to spread my messages of empowerment, love, and equality across the country with my music”, said the singer.
