Having made ground as a cover artist, that YouTube sensation that we’ve all come to know and love as ‘Lisa Jencee’ has set her sights on doing everything possible to better her career in the months to come --- and that starts with putting out her own compositions!
“I do have a few covers uploaded until now, and the number will rise. I've started working on my first song and my mission is to better myself in Ukulele, learn the guitar, focus on my YouTube channel and reach out to a global audience.
“I'd love to keep learning and working for it and see where music takes me both on YouTube and other areas of my life because there is no point in giving up. One needs to keep fighting for it. I believe that if you don't know something, it's always better to learn it. Keep learning until it seeps into the core. In time, your hard work shall bear fruit. I started off this journey on YouTube, and I know it's not going to be easy but I do believe that it isn't IMPOSSIBLE”, said the emerging singer, whose real name is Lisa Jongske Sangma.

The 22 year old who is about to graduate with a Political science degree in 6 months was more than glad to retrace her footsteps in the industry thus far.
“I was born and brought up in the Northeast of India, in a beautiful state called "Assam". Born to a Christian family, I was taught to be an avid Sunday school student as well as give God the very first place since I was a three year old kid. Therefore, Sunday school was where my love for singing began. I'd come back home and run around the house singing at the top of my voice.
“As I grew older, my school teachers gave me opportunities to sing so that I could develop confidence at it. They would ask me to sing in front of the entire class after our lessons were over for the day. Same was in case of Sports Week, singing competitions or on special occasions like teacher’s day, or pre-Christmas celebrations. All these performances helped me deal with my shyness (which was at its peak at that point of time)”, she said.

Lisa was to receive an even bigger boost in as far as her confidence from singing in kids summer camp and church.
“During my last year of junior high school, I was called at a Kids Summer Camp in a local church in our area, to teach them songs. That was a major step of my life. I got an opportunity to showcase my voice to a group of about 90 to 100 kids. It did boost my confidence a lot and I continued doing that every year for almost 4 years. Later on, I had to hand it over to someone else because I got busy with college and studies. Thereafter I had a long break from singing, maybe for almost a year.
“Later on, in the year 2017, I was called to join in as a Sunday school teacher and a member of the "Praise and worship" team of our church. Despite being busy every day, it gave me immense joy to be able to sing in church every single Sunday”, said the singer.

She also took it upon herself to learn how to play the Ukulele (a four string, (six string) and sometimes eight string instrument that originated in Portugal.
“I decided to learn a Ukulele. Got one after Christmas (2018). And I promised myself that I had to master every chord within a month and start uploading my cover songs on YouTube. And I was able to succeed on that part. I did master the basic chords and strumming pattern to start off my Channel”, said Lisa.
