Not only is she active on the music scene but this Malawian star is just as fully-immersed when it comes to her philanthropic work.
We are talking about none other than the beautiful and talented Hazel Mak of course!
Speaking to Urban Craft a few days back the singer opened up on a number of projects that she is and has been involved in since the turn of the year. She also shared with us ‘teasers’ in as far as what to expect from her for the remainder of 2019.
“2019 has been a busy year so far. It kicked off with the ‘Vic falls festival’ in Zimbabwe where the whole team came to support the set. That was followed by a video shoot for my current single ‘Katakwe’ and finally returning home to Malawi with the Afrima Award”, said Hazel.
Fans of the multi-award winning star will be thrilled by the news that a number of music projects will be released onto the market in the coming months, with the most notable one being a much anticipated album.
“I'm actually working on my album at the moment and I have a few singles lined up too and I’m also yet to drop the official video for my single Katakwe which featured Exq from Zimbabwe, so expect that and so much more!”, said a visibly excited Mak.
Music business aside, the Malawian songstress dedicates much of her time to philanthropic projects all over the Southern African nation.
“I've also been doing a lot of philanthropic work with Malawian Girls Rock...we recently visited Kusewera school on a project called #GirlTalk where my colleague and friend ‘Kim of Diamonds’ and I are touring girls schools and talking about the issues girls face on a daily basis.
“I'm also currently working with Ideas Malawi, a youth-focused think tank on Malawi’s first ever Young Entrepreneurs Summit (YES Malalwi 2019) which will be held at the BICC.
“I just want to continue empowering young people and just secure my place as a musician and a business woman.....and win some more awards!”, she said in closing.
