Nobody could have predicted that what started off as just a ‘12 week transformation challenge’ would be the beginning of an exciting a...
The statuesque South African beauty is today a reputable fitness trainer whose brand continues to make inroads into the international market with each passing day.
“My fitness journey began very early in 2015. I have always been a very competitive, sporty type (athletics, swimming, netball, show Jumping) of which I received half colors and full colors for all. I unfortunately lost my competitive horses in 2014 and that was the end of my riding career. I quit all kind of sport and basically gave up on everything. From leading a very active lifestyle to nothing, I gained a fair amount of weight and decided to hit the gym in January 2015.
“I had no idea how to do any of the exercises, use any of the machines and found the gym to be massively intimidating, so I used to walk on the treadmill for 20min three times a week. The gym I attended at the time was hosting a 12 week transformation challenge and being the competitive person I was, I decided to employ a personal trainer and do it. 12 weeks later I stood on stage in my very first beach bikini line up at the Rossi Classic and that was that. The bug bit and I was hooked.
“Fast forward to a year down the line, I decided to expand my own knowledge, (whilst working on my own physique) in terms of understanding nutrition and personal training and studied my Personal Training And Nutrition Diploma through Tri-Focus Fitness Academy”, narrated Loren in a chat with Urban Craft magazine a short while back.
The fitness enthusiast who teased that she might be competing somewhere before year end, has also collected quite a number of accolades along the way and that list includes Transvaal Show Jumping Colours 1996, 4th place Cover Model Rossi Classic 2016, 6th place Battle of the Titans in 2018 (Trained bikini) 2nd place PCA Nationals 2018 (Trained Bikini), to mention but a few.
Loren has over the last couple of years managed to broaden her horizons and is, at this present moment, working with clients as far afield as New Zealand!
“I was a senior Account manager and business development manager in the advertising sector for many years. I LOVE helping people and wasn't fulfilled in terms of my career. I quit the corporate life in 2016 to work full time as a personal trainer. I train clients out of a private gym facility in Rivonia/Morningside Johannesburg as well as specialize in international online training via a mobile app.
“I currently work with clients based in South Africa, New Zealand and Malawi. I further broadened my studies and have recently qualified as a Remedial Sports Massage Therapist, as I do feel that any sporty person (professional or hobby) needs to look after their bodies holistically and any prehab and rehab work is very necessary”, she said.
In the long-term, the fitness trainer expressed a strong desire to keep expanding her knowledge base and doing all she can to make sure her presence is felt more and more on the global stage.
”I would like to build a decent name for myself both as a personal trainer and a Remedial Sports Massage Therapist. I like to learn and expand my knowledge base, so I’m forever researching and studying. In the long term I would love to open my own wellness facility that would include a gym as well as therapy rooms”, she said.
