If there’s one thing that Tammy Taylor Mrs South Africa semi-finalist Nsika Nkosi is passionate about, it’s serving and doing her best to positively impact the society around her.
Nsika has shown her passion through involvement in various community development programmes and by investing five years of her career to Humanitarian Aid and Emergency Relief work.
The South African beauty left the banking sector to join humanitarian agency World Vision and during the period from 2010 to 2015 she was the Regional HR Manager for Southern Africa looking after nine countries.
Working with the internationally-recognized humanitarian agency gave her the opportunity to take her commitment to serve people beyond the boarders of her nation and it’s something that the young woman is very much proud of. Among her obligations was delivering the much needed Wellness Training Programmes in war-torn countries such as the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Her cross-border experience in Humanitarian Aid shows just how far she is willing to go to serve, not only her own community but humanity at large! Her commitment to serve is inspired by one of her favourite quotes that reads, “You can’t be at peace if your neighbours are not at peace.”
The ever-enterprising Nsika recently visited the Carl Children’s home in Soweto, which is a home she’s been working with since her Matric days. She took friends to the home to go and motivate the young ladies and also sponsor them with hygiene, dignity packs.
Her strong desire for making a difference is something that certainly cannot be put in check as she continues to work on a number of different programmes touching on Women Empowerment, Child Protection and Youth Development, among others.
She is no doubt a force to be reckoned with, an inspiring figure and illuminating light for countless others around the world who dream of one day making a difference.
