In just a matter of 3 years, emerging US model Candace Pittman has managed to position herself as one of the brightest prospects of the fashion and modelling industry.
From being published in renowned magazines to walking the world-famous New York Fashion Week twice and everything else in-between, she has definitely been making her presence felt!
“So far, this journey has been nothing short of amazing and blessings. From being published in Hustle Vixens Magazine: Breast Cancer Ed., in honor of my godmother who beat cancer, my aunt who is currently fighting, and my aunt who passed, to walking in New York Fashion Week twice. For me to only have been in this industry for 3 years (1 non-serious, 2 serious), I have accomplished a lot”, said Candace.
Past accomplishments aside, the strikingly beautiful model is focused on the present and immediate future and that starts with embarking on a series of projects that go a long way in improving her portfolio. With the ultimate goal being for her to attain ‘supermodel status’, she opened up to Urban Craft magazine about her itinerary over the next couple of months.
“My focus right now is to continue build my portfolio until I at least get noticed. In the long term, the hope is I get signed to a top agency and reach supermodel status, so that I can give back to my community, give the upcoming generation the tools to become successful.
“Currently, I am booked for the Small Boutique Fashion Week Atlanta 5th Anniversary Show, as well as just secured my booking to model on a 7 day 6 night cruise traveling from the Port of Miami to Mexico, Belize, & more. I have several upcoming photo shoots with the concepts of lingerie w/diamonds, pin up girl style but with a twist, a couple swimsuit concepts, etc. I’m helping my little brother get his clothing brand out called Trapnited. It’s just going to be a busy July for me, August as well”, she said.
Apart from modelling, if there’s one thing that Pittman is passionate about, it’s the plight of kids. Whether it’s raising awareness or otherwise, it is a cause for which she is always willing to play her part.
“In April I had a tonsillectomy, so to prepare for that I took a small hiatus from modelling to make sure my responsibilities would be taken care of while I’m recovering. But before my surgery, I went to a casting call for a fashion show called Stomp the Runway for Autism produced by 3dddprodution. The main focus was to bring focus to Autism, and I was casted. The show was the weekend of the week I was cleared from my recovery, and it was the best show I ever participated in. Anything that is trying to bring awareness to a cause or help kids, I am all for it”, she said.
One might be tempted to ask where she gets the inspiration from? For Candace, the key word is ‘family’ and the support they shower on her. That is what keeps her going and driven to do all that she does!
“What inspires me to keep going is the sense of pride I see every show and every shoot on my mother and grandmother’s faces. Even when I wanted to give it up and just focus on school and work, they were there to encourage and support every decision. I’ve realized that I can actually go far with this and give them everything they deserve and more”, said the model.
