With the release of her latest single ‘Muporofita Moses’, Zimbabwean gospel songbird Hannah Mupepeta said her hope was that the song provides its listener with the much-needed strength when facing some of life’s trials.

The gifted vocalist and inspirational songwriter opened up about the track while speaking to Urban Craft in a recent interview.
“I was walking to a friend’s house ...to visit her sister who was suffering from cancer when l suddenly started singing this song.
“It was recorded, mixed and mastered by Pastor Eloi Manjoro at E-Man-G Studios. Anesu Mufumha was leading the band that played. From this song l hope that my fans will receive strength to withstand harsh times...tests and trials”, she said.

According to Hannah, the latest single is part of an album from which she will be releasing a single at a time. Visuals for the song are also reported to be in the works.
“We already have a videographer ....a lady working on props....we have a concept and we are in the final stages of preparation for the video”, she said.

The gospel singer delved a little deeper into the song for us, detailing where she drew inspiration from and exploring the meaning behind the title as well.
“I was also inspired by the life of Moses. He was a prophet who had witnessed so many of God’s astounding feats. He had seen the hand of God and what God could do for the children of Israel. Yet at one time in the exodus. ....he was before a raging red sea.....behind him was a pursuing Egyptian Army...around him were accusations from his own people, the Israelites. It all overwhelmed him so.....he started crying.
“God spoke to him and asked him not to cry but to speak to the children of Israel and compel them to keep forging ahead. God reminded Moses that he had what it took to come out of it. God had invested just what it took for Moses to come out of ‘death’.....alive ....so Moses prophesied. ....’Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. These Egyptians you see ....yea shall see them again no more’, she said.

Using the Bible, more specifically the story of Moses, as a reference point, Hannah took the opportunity to cement her message.
“I took the journey of his life.....to inspire many around us. Moses was also a man who, at times, would get overwhelmed when he was between a rock and a hard place. Like us ....he also would cry. What does God think of us when we cry? What is His response to our crying?
“God expects us to use what he has invested in us to overcome each test. The power of the spoken word. He has done so much for us and that is what we must use to trust that, if there has never been a time he failed us....then he has no reason to fail us now, because he lives. ..., we can and we will face the future, so we should open up our mouths and say....’Handimbochema’, said Hannah.

With so much turmoil going on in today’s world, Hannah’s latest offering is sure to resonate with a lot of folks out there.
