Empress South Africa finalist, Nozipho Mashaba sees the peagent as a great dais for empowerment and in the event that she takes home the crown, her goal is to use this same platform to make a difference in the lives of those in her community, more specifically the women and youths.
“Empress South Africa is wonderful woman empowerment platform, that doesn’t discriminate your size, race, background (whether you are rich or poor), your height, your weight and your looks.
“I will use my voice to influence to empower more youth than l am able to do right now, not only in my community but throughout the whole of South Africa by having a brunch of TUYD in every province and having these provinces meet in between to compete, empower and grow each other through public speaking and open dialogues. I would love to see my vision of reaching out to every youth that needs help, be it, in education or social support, realized”, said the model.

Being part of this unique peagent has been quite the experience for Nozipho, she is excited to be here today making everybody back in her hometown proud!
“This is something that I’ve dreamt about doing for the longest time and day by day, moment by moment I’m getting closer to realizing my dream. I am overwhelmed with gratitude to have made it this far and being able to make my hometown proud at the same time is the cherry on top.
“The experience has been nothing but an exciting one. I have met some amazing, beautiful and goal driven women from all shapes of life (my beautiful fellow contestants). I have learnt, l have grown and l truly have come out of my comfort zone. I have met the reigning Queen, Her Supreme Majesty Tshepo Makupu, who has inspired me to be a different person, embrace my scars and be an entrepreneur”, she said.

Modelling has always been something that is close to her heart, but so has the passion to make a difference in the lives of those around her.
“Beauty peagents have been my thing since l was young, when l started adolescence stage and started gaining weight l started getting bullied, rejected when l go for castings and l decided from that time that I am gonna stand my ground because l am dearly and wonderfully made.
“I started an organization called The Unlimited Youth Development (TUYD) mentoring young girls to grow their self esteem, do beauty peagants, public speaking, debate and stand their own ground. I continued as a model but ramp and picture model because my focus had now moved into grooming these babies of mine. I am proud to say they have won numerous awards but one question remained on one of the kids was "Big sis, you teach us all these things we need to know about life, you trained us well on beauty contest part and everything but we have never seen you take part in beauty peagents" this girl am talking about died in a brutal and most traumatic way. I am honoring her memory and hope she will be smilling from above when she sees me on that stage taking part”, she said.

In closing, the inspirational model/entrepreneur also gave us an idea of what we can expect from her in the foreseeable future.
“My main focus currently is Empress South Africa tasks, visiting homes, charity activities, motivational talks etc. Other than that you will find me on radio or television doing interviews and commercials. I also have, among other things, the 'Jozi fashion show' happening on the 11th of September and taking control of my entrepreneurship skills with my first make-up tutorial masterclass on the 05th of October”, said Nozipho
