Tatiana Paris is a Los Angeles filmmaker/director that has been making some waves on the independent film scene. Project 4, which is the parent company for ArtSchool Records, produced a film for Tatiana that looks like it’s gonna head to the Sundance film festival. The working title of the film is “Memoirs of a Dead Bitch”.
She had a composer lined up to score the film but was asked to listen to Bill Zsunkan’s music before making a final decision on the music. Below is a direct quote from Tati after hearing Zsunkan’s music:
“When I first heard Zsunkan’s music I was blown away! I went down the rabbit hole real hard with him. His music has a modern retro feel that invokes a deep sense of melancholy. All of his work has a fine sensory layer that’s perfect for film scoring”
According to ArtSchool Records, the idea is to cross-promote the film and the music since Zsunkan is going to release an extended soundtrack through the label.
Brief bio on Tatiana:
Tatiana Paris is an award-winning director and writer of cerebral dramatic narratives and off-the-wall zany comedies. She comes from a circus background and applies her unique and whimsical point of view to every project she creates.
Recently, she won Best Director at Atlanta Comic Con film festival, and best Narrative short at Michigan Comic Convention film festival, as well as being nominated at California’s Women’s Fest and Easterseals Disability Film Challenge for best director.
About Zsunkan:
William Zsunkan is a multiinstrumenatlist based in Los Angeles. Originally from NYC, his style emanates from the post punk era of his youth. He moved to Boston and released 5 albums under the moniker, Bill Fort.
He is a prolific songwriter with musical styles ranging from dark, ambient music to orchestral to punk and surf rock.
