South African based author, Christian Zasalua, who goes by the pen name 'Chriss Zas's' describes his debut effort as an African tale that speaks of philosophy, leadership and empowerment from an Afrocentric point of view.

Titled Labyrinth, the literary artwork was officially launched on the 3rd of August in Johannesburg at a bookstore called Book Circle Capital where the book can be found, and at African Flavour Bookstore.
“It's a fantasy (genre) work which combines a fiction and non-fiction story, it speaks about the African story from its earlier times to this current era, an African tale that speaks of philosophy, leadership and empowerment from an Afrocentric point of view”, said the author during our brief but insightful chat.

For Zas's, the foundation of Africa's future lies in unity and it's a theme that runs throughout the book, one he hopes that his fellow Africans can take cognisance of going forward.
“Well , the aim of this book is first to trigger a sort of black or African consciousness in terms of rediscovering the greatness that is ignored by Africans , and to get them aware about the salvation that lies in unity , Africa can only survive and move forward when unity becomes the center, he said.

Asked to give us an idea of who he is and just how far he has come in the Industry, this is what the writer had to say,
“Well, about myself, I'm a young African, born in Congo but have been living in south Africa for couple of years now, and I decided to get back to my natural talent which is writing after completing my university studies. The book is just one of many works that I wrote, but I chose to release this one first because its theme speaks, unapologetically, about what matters the most to me and to many young people, which is our continent, Africa, said the author.

According to Chriss, the book will be made available online in the weeks to come.
