Though still relatively new to the fray, Worcester, Massachusetts singer/songwriter, Renee Lamy, is no doubt a star in the making.
Her undeniable passion and dedication to what she does is just as apparent as her talent.

Speaking to Urban Craft magazine a short while back, Renee opened up to us about her journey so far, memorable highlights, but more importantly, she gave us an idea of what we can look forward to seeing and hearing from her in the time to come.
"My journey so far in this industry has been exciting. It's crazy because there really is no road map for how to do this. Just when I think I know where I'm at and where I'm going, my path changes. I meet so many new people all of the time that have an impact on my career whether that be the songs I'm writing, the places I'm performing, or just how I identify myself as an audience. I have been lucky enough to be surrounded by some really talented, strong-willed, smart people also in the industry which has made all of the difference.
"One of the highlights in my journey so far came with the release of my most recent single, 'Losing Game'. I released the song and as usual, I was anxiously waiting for everyone's feedback. I wanted everyone to love it and I was scared that the popular opinion would be that it's nothing great. Out of all of the comments I got, there was one that seemed to keep repeating: 'I can relate to this song'. This was a comment that I didn't know I needed until I heard it and I was blown away. The fact that someone listened to me singing about my experiences and listening to me express my emotions and they could feel it and they identified with it was incredible. Everyone has that song that they listen to and it feels like the artist wrote it just for them in that moment and it's such a strong feeling so the fact that people were experiencing that feeling with my song was insane. It meant everything to me", she said.

Growing up, Renee's parents played a wide variety of music which she credits for giving her the chance to explore different styles and discover her love for pop music. Her sound can be described as a mix of the pop edge of Julia Michaels and the acoustic flow of Ed Sheeran. Renee turned her love for pop music into her own singles titled, 'Losing Game' and 'Let You Go' which are available on all music streaming platforms. She is currently recording her third single that she plans to release later this year.
"I am currently working on a new single! It is in the process of being mixed by Ryley Music Productions and we are working out all of the details so hopefully it will be done soon! I'm really excited about this one bcause I think it will be different from my previous two singles. My previous two have been a little on the slower side and had a sad message. This song is going to be more uptempo and "easier" to listen to. My most recent single, 'Losing Game' was very therapeutic for me to write and therefore has a heavier message and the song itself relies so heavily on the words. I wanted to go in the opposite direction and make this new song something that is easy to listen to in any setting. So this is definitely something my followers can look forward to!", said the singer.

For the emerging star, inspiration comes from everyday life itself, her immediate surroundings and the poeple closest to her.
"I find inspiration in so many things. I work at a voice studio and the two women I work with are also artists and they inspire me. They are so supportive and dedicated to their own careers and that pushes me to do the same. I am inspired every time I see a live concert. The energy you feel performing on a stage is incredible. I think what drives me to do it everyday is the need to make music. I love performing and writing and making music with other people. I also make sure to continuously set goals for myself so I am contantly pushing myself forward", said Renee.

One of those goals is to, of course, keep honing in on her guitar skills.
"I have a few immediate goals. One of them is to make a great new single.  I also want to improve my guitar skills. My boyfriend started teaching me guitar in April so I can accompany myself on stage and while I am now able to do that, I still need A LOT of practice!", said the singer/songwriter.

With years of performance under her belt, Renee is no stranger to the stage. She has performed at many New England venues such as Bostons Faneuil Hall, The Jimmy Fund Scooper Bowl, The Big E, and Topsfield Fair. The singer lists performing the national anthem at the Massachusetts Special Olympics Winter Games among her fondest experiences.
"One of the most impactful experiences so far for me has been when I sang the national anthem at the Massachusetts Special Olympics Winter Games. It was the best crowd of people I have ever been surrounded by. The dedication they showed to their teammates and the game was inspiring and the energy was amazing. It was definitely the most positive energy I have ever felt during a performance", she said.
