For actor/model and host, Whitney Bowers, there is no greater satisfaction than that which comes from doing what she loves! Doing what she does provides her with a sense of purpose and belonging.
"Honestly, waking up every morning knowing I am doing something I love is what drives me!  Life can be such a grind if you are not doing something you enjoy", she said while speaking to Urban Craft magazine all the way from her base in Los Angeles.

Whitney was of course taking the time out to brief the media on what she had in store over the coming months. Part of what we can expect is her directorial debut, a production called Anti-Social that the actor teased during our interview.
“I have a few exciting projects to look forward to! Back in May I shot my directorial debut Anti-Social’.  It is a film with a heavy subject lineI cant give away too many details at the moment because it will change how you view the piece, but I am very proud of it.  I directed it, came up with the concept, and starred in it as well.  It was definitely a whirlwind experience, as from inception to filming was a span of around a week.  I am so incredibly grateful to my crew for coming together and making my project come to life!  I cant wait for the world to see it!
“Another project that is in pre-production is a secret-agent series, called The Agency. It started off as a Magazine Series with heavy fashion ties to pay homage to some of our favorite designers (Perry White and Giovanni Testi). I wrote the concept and it was published in a fashion magazine starring Newton Mayenge.  You can check out our Instagram page to follow that project @theagencymagazineseries”, said Bowers.

Being somebody who is constantly working towards growing her repertoire, she sees directing and stunt work as roles she can fully immerse herself in the years to come. The Montgomery, Alabama-born actor confirmed as much in our brief chat.
"I am looking forward to getting my film Anti-Social completed and submitted for festivals.  I am also constantly wanting to grow and expand my repertoire. Right now I want to add some stunt skills to my bag of tricks. I want to continue creating and I would love to do some more directing as well!  As long as I can continue working and creating I am living the dream!
“More importantly, It is very important for me to use my platform to help create awareness and continue the dialogue", she added.

From a young age, Whitney wanted to be in the spotlight. She was involved in all aspects of theatre productions and also performed in Carnegie Hall in New York City. After graduating high school, she went off to college where she studied business. After College she realized something was missing. She quit her job and started doing background work and working as a production assistant, gaining experience and knowledge in the film industry. It didn't take long for her to make the big move to Los Angeles where she immediately began auditioning and working as an actor. She eventually worked her way up to supporting and leading roles in various films. Since then, it has been clear she is where she belongs!

“I have been very blessed to work with some amazing people along this journey.  Not only have I met my partner (Newton Mayenge)who is just the best and extremely supportive, but I have made some amazing friends and worked on some fun projects.  Between walking in fashion shows, hosting red carpet events, working in music videos, directing my first film, working on the production side, modeling, acting both on screen and on stage I fall more in love with my passion every day!
“I have been involved in the Hollywood Fringe Festival and last year I was in a production called ‘Immersed’; written and directed by Lili Gorret. It was a unique play, a Sensory and interactive experience that envelops the spectator 360 degrees.  It was an amazing project to be part of and we were a peoples choice finalist in the Hollywood Short + Sweet festival", said Whitney.
