Urban Craft Magazine caught up with emerging Country singer/songwriter Tae Lewis and the North Carolina native who started his roots by singing in his grandfather’s church was more than glad to share with us, his journey so far, current/upcoming projects and of course, his experience under quarantine.

Tae believes that his new single  “Good Luvin”,  gives his fans a taste of his upbringing as well as bringing pop country to the forefront.

Below are excerpts from our interview with the talented musician......

For the benefit of our readership, would you mind giving us an idea of who you are and just how far you've come in the industry?

Of course. My name is Tae Lewis. I am a country singer/songwriter in the New York area. I grew up around two different streams of music. Gospel & Country. So I’ve always wanted to make sure I pay respect to the background I was brought into every time I do a show or create my music for the listeners. So far, the industry has not been easy as usual. However, I’ve learned that connecting goes farther than anything. Connections have gotten me my manager as well as my publicist. I haven’t gotten to where I desire to be. However, I’m not stopping until I do.

How has your journey in the industry been thus far, any memorable highlights/accolades to look back on?

My journey in the industry has not been easy. Being a successful artist has its difficulty because you’re having to significantly work to stay relevant to this society. However, I’ve learned to adapt and to understand where my lane is constructed to be. The most memorable moment would be meeting my Manager and Publicist. They’ve worked with some of the top people in the industry which gave me an idea of what I should take heed to when I’m learning the industry.

The coronavirus has affected us all in different ways. As an artist what are you doing in order to make sure you stay relevant and in touch with your fans as well during this pandemic?

The great thing about being an artist is learning how to adapt quickly without having any issues now that we have technology. To stay relevant, I continue to stay in touch with my fans through Live videos on my social media platforms as well as doing giveaways so they know I’ve never left them. You never know when you’re able to touch someone through these hard times.

Personally, how have you managed to stay sane during this difficult period. Any tips that you can share with your fellow artists out there?

First, I will say it hasn’t been easy. My family is about 10 hours away from me which puts me in a place of stress not being able to surround them with love. What I have done to stay sane through this is staying current with my fans, calling my friend & family members, and reading books. I’m a huge reader. I love to challenge my thinking process to keep myself on the edge of the seat.

What are you working on at the moment that we can look forward to in the near future?

At the moment I am writing songs with my management team to get ready for the release of my new EP that will be coming in the late fall early January. I’m also getting geared up for some shows during the end of the summer going into the fall season if this pandemic allows.
