To say that the coronavirus has turned our lives and whatever sense of normalcy we had upside down would be an understatement!
The pandemic is, to this day, still wreaking havoc on every facet of our society and the entertainment industry has not been spared either.
As such, one has to commend our artists, the world over, for still finding ways new (and unique) ways in which to keep their fans entertained as well as informed during this difficult time.
One such artist is none other than rising country musician Stephanie Owens who recently took to the stage in her very first virtual concert.
“It was so much fun! I've done Facebook Live and Instagram Live before a number of times, but this was my first virtual concert. I really loved getting to share my music with my fans that haven't been able to make it to one of my shows in person - especially those in other countries! That made this show super special!
“The virtual experience is definitely different because I love looking out into the crowds and making eye contact as much as possible while performing, and I love the audience feedback. But this was special in the sense that people can comment in real-time, so I was getting feedback and encouraging comments while I was performing. I always wonder what is going through people's minds while I'm performing, so this virtual experience allowed me to know some of that, haha.
“My fans really loved it! I also had new fans discover me as a result of going Live, which was very cool", said Stephanie while sharing her experience with Urban Craft magazine.
Adjusting to life under quarantine has not been easy but it has certainly brought with it a sense of togetherness with those around us and also given us ample time for those things that we had all been putting off due to our hectic daily lives prior to this pandemic.
“I'm using this time to try to post as much encouraging content as possible and connect through Instagram comments and messages. I always make it a priority to respond to everyone because my fans encourage me to keep chasing this dream, and I'm so thankful to be on this journey with them! I'm also working on new music so that I'll be ready to roll that out when life resumes some normalcy.
“As much as I'm frustrated with not knowing when all this will pass, this time is also a good reminder for me that I'm not in control of anything. God has to keep teaching me that lesson in various ways because I'm stubborn haha! I'm trying to make the most of this time by choosing to let myself relax more than I otherwise would. I have a very hard time relaxing and always feel a pressure to be on the go and accomplishing something. So I'm really trying to savor being at home with my husband, Chris, and our puppy, Ruby. Life will go back to normal at some point here, and it would be easy to miss this quality time with family if we just keep looking into the future and wishing this would be over. I would just encourage my fellow artists and fans to be present with the people close to them and to know that the Lord sees the big picture and is in control, even when we can't make sense of this right now", she said.
