Fresh from releasing and making waves with her brand new single titled 'Crazy On The Outside', Nashville recording artist Jessica Lynne caught up Urban Craft Magazine for an interview and below is how our short but insightful exchange went down....
What is the inspiration behind the title of your new project. Would you mind sharing with us a bit more information about it?
[J.L] Crazy On The Outside is a song about someone most of us have encountered in our lives. The person that seems normal when you first meet, but it doesn't take long for them to wear their crazy on the outside. An anthem for the ones who are happy they broke it off.
What are some of the topics and themes that you explored on this particular project?
[J.L] Aside from writing about the crazy that you don't see right up front, I wanted to get the message across that we're not all like that. With some of us, what you see is what you get, and when we say we're fine, we are actually fine. No mind games, no guesses. Just plain old honesty.
At the end of the day what do you hope your fans will be able to take away from listening to this project?
[J.L] If people can relate to this song if they have encountered the "crazy" they might realize they are not alone. But if all they get out of it is a great sing-along that's fine too!
Being an artist, how have you been keeping yourself busy during this corona virus pandemic?
[J.L] It hasn't been easy keeping afloat through this pandemic. I have lost many shows. But I took the opportunity to really dive into live streaming. I didn't want to think of it as a bandaid, but as something I could continue doing when the world goes back to normal. I did a lot of writing during this time too. So I've kept myself busy and I've learned a lot. These days you can find me every Saturday morning (11 am PST) on Facebook and Instagram for "Caffeine & Country" and on Thursdays with my "Honky Tonk Happy Hour" (5 pm PST) - that one is just for my free fan club. These will continue even when I hit the road again.
What else can we expect to see or hear from you for the remainder of the year 2020?
[J.L] I am going to Nashville this month to record two new singles. Keep your eye out for those and some acoustic songs I have been working on in quarantine. There may even be a Christmas release, you never know!
