“Growing Pains” is Andrew Marshall’s first project since 2018 and his songwriting showcases the vulnerability of finding himself and learning how to love. The three tracks are a journey from love to loss to lust; they cover some of the universal insecurities present in all relationships that lead to our own reluctance to let people in. “Growing Pains” is Marshall’s reintroduction to the world, reflecting his new writing style and his commitment to expressing truth in his songs, even when it seems impossible. "Growing Pains" is available for download and streaming on June 26th.

"This release has a larger significance than anything else I’ve ever put out. It’s crazy to think that I’ve been working on some of this music for over two years at this point. It’s a testament to getting kicked to the ground and standing back up, over and over. Sometimes I even felt like it wouldn’t ever be released. I know that the experiences I go through are all part of the human condition, so my goal has always been to express these struggles to let people know they are not alone. This is the music I’ve been meaning to make, the message I’ve been trying to send and I’ve been holding onto it for far too long.”
- Andrew Marshall

Connect With Andrew:

From lacking the strength to sing to opening in front of thousands of people at the iconic Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom, Andrew Marshall has experienced more than most at the age of twenty-one. Marshall’s world turned upside down in high school when he was diagnosed with Leukemia as a junior. While his classmates went to school each day, Andrew found himself staring out of a hospital window wishing to be a normal teenager again. As each day passed, and treatment continued on, music was the only thing that kept him going. He was compelled to write and felt a purpose to connect with others through creating and performing music. For the first time in his life, Andrew felt that his lyrics had significance.

Andrew's songs speak of love, heartbreak, and the trials, both good and bad, of life. His experiences through his leukemia battle have shaped him into the man he is today. He laughs a little longer and smiles a little brighter whenever he can. Though his appreciation for life has grown, he is constantly learning how the treatment has subconsciously affected his battles with anxiety, self approval, and success. Marshall emphasizes these challenges in his music in hopes that his audience can relate and know that it is okay to be a work in progress.

Marshall released his first sample of songs in 2018 with his acoustic EP titled, Letters From Lowell. The five tracks show an initial glimpse into Andrew’s mind, as if he were singing right to you. His songs were featured on both college and local radio stations. Since that release, he has played for thousands of people at venues such as the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom and The Blue Ocean Music Hall. Andrew plays regularly in and outside of Boston supporting other local acts.

Andrew is currently working on his sophomore EP, Growing Pains, to be released in June of 2020. The tracks touch a more conflicted side of his heart, including the search for acceptance, moving on, and his own moral compass when it comes to love. Beginning to end, the tracks have purpose and a story to tell. For the first time as a writer, Marshall is confident that he has encapsulated his exact feelings on these topics into his writing.
