She not only touched our hearts and minds, but had us grooving along to her single “First Tear" in recent months, and by the look of things Texas-born singer Debra D' Lane is far from being done!
She teased news of a brand-new album while opening up to Urban Craft magazine in an interview this past week.
“I have been working on a project that started in 2017. I suppose inspiration comes from all sorts of life experiences whether they be positive or negative. In my case the inspiration was on the negative side but ends very positive. I started working on this project during a very hard time in my life to express emotions when two people are splitting into two different lives after being in a life together for many years. Yes, I’m talking about divorce.
“Being an artist, this is how I express my emotions. Kinda of my healing and letting it all out through music. The project is ongoing with many variables of ups and downs. Divorce therapy if you will through this chapter closure. I hope to release this “release” in the summer of 2021! The album’s title is still in the works. I have released 3 of the songs on the album as singles. The next release from me will be the full enchilada!”, said Debra.
After having explored themes like “Heartache and Healing”, the singer said that one important lesson to take away from the upcoming project was that there’s light at the end of the tunnel.
“There is always a light at the end of the tunnel when your ship starts to rock”, she said, during our short but insightful chat.
As to her plans for the remainder of the year, Debra was more than hopeful of a brighter outcome in light of the global pandemic.
“Who knows what’s yet to come after a pandemic! But the future looks bright!”, said the singer.
